COVID-19 Risk Visualization Resource 

Intellimed, a healthcare data analytics company and data aggregator, has created a risk-scoring resource for healthcare organizations that visualizes populations with a higher risk of severe outcomes from COVID-19 by zip code. Intellimed provides data analytics to hospitals, health systems and payors across the U.S.

According to the Center for Disease Control, those who are at a high-risk for severe illness from COVID-19 include people 65 years and older and those who live in a long-term care facility or nursing home. Those with underlying medical issues, like chronic lung disease, asthma, heart conditions, obesity, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, liver disease, or are immunocompromised are also at a higher risk.

Intellimed has used this guidance from the CDC and paired it with demographic data, professional service claims data, and Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project’s (HCUP) Clinical Classifications Software Refined (CCSR) information to craft a composite scoring methodology that gives healthcare providers strategic insight into those most at risk in their community.
